Audio Needed for EK Birds

Audio needed for East Kootenay Little Birds

Here is a list of little birds that do not yet have any audio from the East Kootenay.

You can see which ones and how many recordings there are so far by looking at the "Illustrated Checklist" for the EK at:

https://ebird.org/canada/region/CA-BC-EK/media?yr=all&m=

See my audio recording and submission workflow two blog posts down at

Taxonomically from the end. Practice reading the four-letter codes:

For your listening pleasure (get a recording app - don't use video to record sound).

What's your guess on what and where? :)

PS  eBird currently allows only reviewers (I think - maybe a select other few) to upload video but it may be in the works, with limitations - due to storage requirements.

East Kootenay eBirding to 2020

Quick post just to get these charts out I made - FYI - for fun.

I should really be summarizing Kimberley Christmas Bird Count data and getting it entered online; but I got distracted.

First one (species) shows the number of species seen per year in the East Kootenay and the most number of species gotten by a single eBirder in each year.

Congratulations again to the top eBirder by species set in 2018 - 247 sp.

Second one shows the same for number of species in the East Kootenay each year along with the most checklists submitted by a single person for that year.

Congratulations to the new checklist leader!

Not sure how our media submissions are doing - seem to be fantastic!
Although, we could use more audio recordings .....

But hey!  It's really all about enjoying birds, enjoying and having adventures when birding, learning new stuff, sharing, and hopefully our contributions can help keep birds in our lives.

And here is a pretty picture sent to me by Struan R.

Happy Birding in 2021!
(don't let 2020 win)
